BREAD MAKING COURSES 2026

Our next date is March 29th 2026 - booking now open. As usual, we will be at the St Bridget's Centre, making four different sourdough loaves, plus a pot of starter, to take home. Our informal, hands on classes last from 1-6pm, with a tea break for a freshly baked fruit loaf and soft drinks. Come and join our baking session, learning new skills for a relaxing (and busy!) afternoon. £100 pp.

Start here!

If you want to try making a loaf of sourdough bread yourself, before you try to make your own starter, you can buy some of our own, made on the premises, Little Eye starter for just a £5 plus postage.
No equipment needed, starts bubbling before you have got time to read a recipe book and wonder how they did it! Do it yourself!

DIY? - try it in the kitchen
We want everyone to try sourdough bread - stories about how hand-made sourdough bread is better for flavour and general well-being keep on coming -
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/aug/12/rise-sourdough-bread-slow-fermented-health-benefits

but at Little Eye we also say learning to Do It Yourself will strengthen your confidence in the kitchen, your understanding of where good flours and equipment come from, and bring the great satisfaction that a crusty, well-risen loaf delivers. Come on a course, or buy some sourdough starter from us and try it yourself at home.

Awesome!

A message today from Julie, who came on our course in December 2013:

"have you organised your advanced bread making course yet? Still really enjoying making my sourdough, and supplying friends and family.  Have created a space in my utility room for my big Shipton Mill sacks!
My kids think my pizzas and focaccia are awesome now."

Attached some photos of my sourdough"    They look great Julie!

Advanced course to run from September 2014

Buying our bread

We are now concentrating on selling bread through direct orders as well as through Palms in West Kirby, and the West Kirby Farmers Market.
If you want to buy our bread, you can order direct either:
bread for collection
on a Saturday morning in West Kirby
or
in batches of 6, by agreement (suitable for people with a bit of freezer space)

contact us at info@littleeye.org.uk and we can let you know what we are making, and the prices.

Only at West Kirby Farmers Market you will get a full range including our walnut bread, baguettes (ancienne) and new items like the chelsea buns in January.

All slow overnight sourdoughs handmade for you.
New line at the WK Farmers Market - the slow Chelsea Bun! They were all snapped up first thing. Maybe we can put them on the list for the our new Follow-Up class later in the year, in development at the moment.
