Our course has been altered to respond to the covid pandemic - we have reduced from 8 to only 6 people per day, to allow more space per person in our pleasant, spacious and well-ventilated hall.
Bread and soup lunch is provided, with fruit loaf tea and coffee for breaks through the day The course will run from 10 am to around 4pm
The day costs £100 each.
People enjoy our courses, which are all about learning by doing, not watching. From our class in May, Alun emailed us after a successful bake a bit later:
" I cannot express just how useful and enjoyable
was your one-day sourdough course I attended at West Kirby just a couple of
Saturdays ago.............When I came on your course, I wasn’t sure about
sourdough and thought it might be too complicated. How wrong could I be.
Sourdough is just great fun and produces the tastiest bread I’ve ever baked. "
"I enjoyed the day and was very pleased to come away with
improved knowledge and skills, a sourdough starter, some useful equipment and
several loaves of which I could be proud.
All of our questions were answered clearly and all necessary materials
and equipment were provided.
I will encourage my daughter and son-in-law to attend when
they have the time."
On the day you will:
· Understand the importance of the ingredients - from grain to loaf – sources, millers and traditions
· See how the fermentation works, and talk through how it can fit into your life
· Work from different starters, through mixing, shaping and proving doughs, to the bake
Experiment and have some fun!
Vouchers available for those of you giving the course as a gift.
